Animanimals
by Julia Ocker
Collection, 52 x 4 min, 2D-Animation, aimed at children from four to eight
In each film of the ANIMANIMALS, the audience can get friends with another animal. The stars of the little adventures are lovable characters with certain qualities, that seem to be handicaps first, but turn out to be advantages: a ZEBRA, who’s stripes get confused, an OCTOPUS, who has an argument with one of his arms, an ANT, who opposes to the group pressure, or a SLOTH, who is licking more slowly than the icecream is melting.
The Festival tour proves, that the little quirks lead to success. The collection got 77 awards in 22 countries. It is a phenomenon, that the ANIMANIMALS won reapeatedly at many of these festivals. Most of them were audience awards. The festival success is possible, because every episode works as an individual short film. That’s why the ANIMANIMALS are rather a collection than a series. Nevertheless they conquer TV all over the world. The distributor Meta Media could sell the collection to more than 180 territories already. On YouTube, there were 140 million views.
